To Crop and Shop

My parents.  Aren't they lovely!

It's that weekend again, already.  You remember the one, where I spend Friday afternoon in bad light, on the floor of my workroom trying to pack for the Crop tomorrow.  I will never grow out of this sort of last minute preparation, I've tried.  And the only reason I don't leave it till Saturday morning is that I'm the hall key collector so I need to be there on time. Deliberate and clever tactic if you ask me.
Tomorrow's 'work' will be slightly different for me though, I'll be attempting to make a few gifts.  You know, it being the first of December and all, and me having a couple of 12 month calendar LOs to make.  Well, three actually.  Let's see how that goes, because ideally it involves quite a lot of planning and embellishment selection.  I understand that this first Saturday of the month will be absolutely manic in terms of shopping and getting around the metropolitan areas.  I am happy to be safely tucked away and missing out on that for sure.  But don't fret about my being smug...my crowded, hot and manic shopping days are yet to come!

Ros wanted to see this in full after she read Tuesday's post.  It was a part of yesterday's workshop.  I love the way that everyone applies different amounts of the Distress Inks so that no two tags were exactly the same.  It's Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge inks and Tarnished Brass Distress Stain if you're interested.  The holly is stamped in Mowed Lawn.  Or should that Mown Lawn?  There's a weekend teaser!
Have a lovely weekend.

Hope you are comfy on the floor prepping... Love the layout and the tag too. You're becoming quite a fan of distress!! I haven't started my shopping yet either.

Gorgeous layout and card Julia.
As for the green colour, I have been debating that one too and thought it was wrong. But! I just asked my Boss who is pretty good with the words, (does Latin and studies words) and he assures me that it is indeed Mown Lawn!

Gorgeous work Julia - and the photo of your parents is fabulous. They look so happy.

Running round in headless chikkin' mode here else I would have been tempted to venture to my very first crop :)

Hugs, Di xx

That tag is fabulous. Rich and warm and just what we need right now! And thank you for reminding me of the wonderful word beloved. It's perfect for a project, so thank you for that.

Sorry I’ve not been around much lately. I finally got my head out of my basement so I could stop by for a visit! I still can't see any links, so can't join WOYWW. But I'm here and hoping to try a few things now that I'm through posting every day this month.

I love that tag card. Odd for me to say that when it looks rather T!m. But I do love it.

BTW, I forgot to mention how much I like the scrapbook page you made of your parents. Yes, they are lovely.

Have a great time at the crop, dear keeper of the keys!

Have fun tomorrow....I am in metropolis this weekend! Staying clear of city centre though (well, maybe a quick pop to Blade Rubber....be rude not to!)

Love the tag card, nice bit of depth and texture going on.

Hi Julia, love the page of your parents - that is a lovely photo of the two of them and the word 'beloved' makes a very apt title. I'm sure you will be done with floor based preparations by now so I'll just say that I hope the Crop tomorrow is great fun.

I like that tag card too - lots of interest in colour and texture there. Although we might/would say mown lawn, the Holtz has it mowed lawn!

Have a great weekend. Elizabeth xx

Hi Julia, Well, thanks for that! The tag looks great! All the colours are working nicely together and when I look closely, I reckon I have that very same ribbon in blue and silver (and possibly pink and green too).

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and
was curious what all is needed to get setup? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would
cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web smart so
I'm not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would
be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Hello there! I know this is kinda off topic however I'd figured I'd ask.
Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest
authoring a blog article or vice-versa? My website discusses a lot of the same topics as yours and
I feel we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you!
Wonderful blog by the way!
