Smart Purposing

This was on my WOYWW post a couple weeks back and there were quite a few comments about it.  I mentioned in passing - it's very clearly a re-purposed CD holder.  I did not mean that it was my idea or manufacture.  Oh no sir.  You know by now that I'm a follower, not a leader, and a good idea like this is simply way beyond me.

I paid *quitealotofmoney* for it. But I must say that I'm glad I did.  Quite apart from the impressive number that it holds (30), or that the dome lid stays in place so it means they are all instantly transportable for crop etc, it's actually just really really handy to have my glitter glues stored in the ideal trajectory position.  Nozzle down, folks.  No air bubbles, no shaking and squeezing and getting angry and not using it.  No, makes sense to me.
The little black clip that holds the second plastic tier is a bit puny...the tier wobbles if you don't load it geometrically correctly.  Ah well.  What other complaint can I come up with?  Erm.. the domed lid is sheer plastic and not completely transparent.  Which means that my impressive 'display' is a bit clouded. Erm.......the lid is plastic and therefore static and may attract dust in the wrong sort of household.  OK, my household.
No, that's it. Considering it wasn't born to do this job, it's doing a fab job and I really quite like it.  Again, although they'll think you're nuts, it would make a great Christmas pressie...because you don't 'neeeeed' it, but it's something worth wanting.

Edited to add:  I brought this online from  www.craftsulove.co.uk..they do not know about this 'review' and they didn't ask me to do it.

Looks good to me too and it would also gather dust in this sort of household.... I'm good at ignoring dust though so that's ok. Now I need to find one to store my glitters on/in...

Can we just google "stickles holder" or does it have a real name and does a specific company/manufacturer make it? Its "clearly" very handy! lol :)

Oh, those were complaints? LOL!So from whence did you pay quitealotofmoney? I wonder if it's avaiable in the states...or need to put it on my list from when we head over there. Of course mine will be filled with all my partially used rock candy distress stickles, in the hopes of finally getting the rock candy! LOL!

I like it too - it looks so decorative with all those gorgeous stickles in it. You did forget to mention where you paid 'quitealotofmoney' - I might just be tempted to drop a hint or two - or even a less subtle demand - in the EM's direction :) Elizabeth xx

It looks as though we all have the same question - where did you buy it from? I think it is a brilliant idea. I keep all my stickles upside down in a set of small boxes, so whenever I take one out, the others all keel over!

It looks great. My house is a dust magnet so it would be covered in dust!!!
5 minutes after I dust it needs done again. I think I need to have the vents furnace vents power vacuumed out! teehee that's my excuse anyways!

I have one and I really do like it and for all the reasons Julia gave. I think I paid about $23.00 US. I wish the manufacturer would have had something other than a paper wrap, which hit the bin right after purchase.

WEll, I think it is brrrrilliant... and I need one, right this very minute... you know how it is and all that lol In answer to your question... the painted bit with the Metallic Stains was the goldy bits, I didn't need to mask owt cos I had a teensy paintbrush and I am oh so careful (snort) xx

Cool idea! Now how do you get the bottom bottles out? Does the top shelf thing lift off? My stickles are laying on their side and upon removal of one they all fall down. LOL I need two of these, so I'm going to print your pic and see if I can find a handyman to make one or similar. Thanks for sharing!

I think it's brilliant, something else The Mister can make for me perhaps!

See you in a bit!

Gosh, if I had that many stickles, I'd buy one of those CD containers, too. Nice review for a product that didn't start out as what you are using it for, at least.

I'm glad you showed a close-up, thank you, Julia. Last week I was wondering how they didn't all fall out when you opened the top. Now I see. Clever you to see the possibility for this in a CD holder!

I'm not playing WOYWW this week (Thanksgiving) so I've no number, just stopping by. Have a great week! Darnell
