The Chocolate Spoon effect

How much would a chocolate spoon enhance your coffee break? Compare it with WOYWW.  A silly idea, born of being nosey..of being in a panic in case other crafters have got stuff that I haven't....of wanting to see what I'm missing...all of those reasons.  So once a week, many of you join me to post a desktop picture for each other to look at and pick over.  There's the morning coffee.  It happens that weekly is enough for many of us to recognise similarities and interests and become real friends, locally and across the world. Contacts are made, daily life is enhanced.  There's the rich and enjoyable taste that a morning break brings.  And then, the WOYWW thing gets onto being another year older and because we can, we offer each other a small piece of art, handmade in our own unique style.  Much pleasure is derived from 'real life' mail arriving...and stories of meetings.  Much pleasure.  And that, surely is the effect that a chocolate spoon has on your coffee break.

Great post Julia - so true. Isn't that often the case though - just a little idea can blossom into something brilliant! Who would have thought that WOYWW would become such a happy, loving, sharing place bringing fun, laughter and much, much more into each of our workspaces. Thanks lots x Jo

I found you through a friend about 1 year ago. I remember the 2nd anniversary of WOYWW! I can't begin to tell you how much that Wednesday break means to me. I'm retired and this gives me a window onto the world. I feel like I have a small visit with so many wonderful crafters! So a chocolate anything is super nice as well as WOYWW! Thank you Julia!

Where can I order a box of those chocolate spoons? I would eat everything with it! Life would be just a little sweeter that way don't you think? Oh and there would never be any washing up either cos you could just eat the cutlery, now to find a chocolate plate and dish...can you tell you have made my mind spin and i just looked at the spoon, imagine if I stirred something with it....

Glad you got my ATC and it was a real pleasure to make for you too. I am Dyslexic and so you might have recognized your own hand on the envelope...LOL

Sorry - I didn't read much after 'chocolate spoon' nummmmmmm.

No really, most of my closest friends were made online (including my Craig) and a fair chunk of them through your WOYWW so I have a lot to thank you for Julia :)

But instead I shall be cheeky and ask... can I have a badge lovely lady? *flutters eyelashes*

I've never heard of a chocolate spoon but it looks SUCH a good idea!! Lovely post, Julia, and I am certainly one who has made new friends online because of your fabby idea of WOYWW - something which attracts me because I am Terribly Nosey and always want all the gorgeous crafty and arty stuff that everyne else has got!!

Thanks for your very understanding post on my blog. I am starting to feel a lot better now, after a good rest (it's the only way) but still feeling disappointed that I missed the ATC fun. What I'd like to do is join in late! Yesterday I cut a whole lot of ATCs and am starting to do zentangles on them, and if anyone is interested in swapping, I'd be very, very happy! One or two absolutely lovely people have sent me ATCs just because - and haven't asked for anything in return, which I thought was so sweet, but I DO want to reciprocate!

Would it be possible to keep the ATC swap open for a bit longer? Seeing what people have done - I'm really envious!

Hugs,
Shoshi

What a lovely post Julia and so true. When I got poorly and had to leave a wonderful job behind, I thought 'that's it for me now - don't want to bore people with my problems' so I cut myself off and started crafting. It has made a huge difference in my life and then I found you and WOYWW and life will never be the same again! I love all the friends I have made and DH thinks it is pretty wonderful too! thank you so much. Crafty hugs, Anne x

...the chocolate spoon is the enhancer, the icing on the cake, the gift behind the paper...5 & half months ago I didn't craft, didn't have a blog but I did have my dear friend May who encouraged me out of my shell...so woyww is the chocolate spoon, the sugar coated window that lets new friends be seen & met, you have given so many people a view they want to see Julia = the Cratfing Angel...Mel :)

What a lovely friendly post Julia. I too am very sad that I missed the ATC swap. It came at the worst possible time for me when my days were filled with family matters which always come first for me. I have lost most of my ATC contacts so i would love to have been involved with yours. Hopefully i will get back into WOYWW over the summer while my Wednesday afternoon class takes a break.
I don't ever drink coffee but a chocolate spoon sounds good to me! Kate x

Sweet, is what new blog friends are.
Caring, too.
Empty, my purse as I buy things I've seen on people's desks.
Brilliant, the new techniques we pick up through WOYWW.
Fantastic, Julia for bringing it all together
Thanks

I've only been participating in WOYWW for 3 weeks and already have made some new friends and followers. It was truly a wonderful idea that has brought together so many crafty people from all around the world and also thankyou for your welcome comment to me.

I'm for ANYTHING chocolatey!
I've seen those spoons and now I want them!!!!

Thank you sounds so lame Julia, but that's what I need to say because you have ensured that my Mr Mojo has had his wings clipped and doesn't look like he's going to go anywhere for a long time to come!
All the inspiration, creativity, and wonderful, colourful personalities out there in the land of WOYWW make blogging so special and enjoyable.
I've not been involved in WOYWW for long, but I'm so happy to have been welcomed so warmly to a very special group.
Enjoy your weekend ♥
