.Keeping calm...

It 's a gift; thanks so much Luckett....all I know is it that it came from the internet!
Whatever you do this weekend, please keep your head.  If you live in the UK, you'll know what I mean.  Petrol.  Ouch.  Well, I need some but am lucky enough to not be so reliant that I'm prepared to queue. What with that and the threat of Spring turning back to something resembling a white Easter week, I'm going to hunker down and do stuff.  Yea verily, it will include crafting.  It will certainly include preparations for Ludgershall Crop next weekend - y'all just know how hateful that is if I leave it till the last minute! You'll ending up clocking in to read another whiney post about how unlucky I am to have to sit on the floor and sort through an accumulation of ten years worth of stash.  This potential enforced 'at home' time will  include reluctant window cleaning.  Oh my, this beautiful spring herald of a low sun really shows up your winter sluttiness.  OK, MY winter sluttiness.  And there's a freezer to defrost too.  I think it's probably time to discard the winter's escaped peas and consider all the fresh bounty that I hope we'll be the beneficiaries of when Grandpa's garden starts to fruit.  (And veg, so to speak).  I've got things to do at my desk, and....and...I'm in the mood to tidy it. Standby. Be prepared.  Keep calm.
Have a great weekend.

I'm in the position of having to get some petrol as I'm expected to hand back my courtesy car with the same level of fuel that they delivered it with and they are coming at 7.30am tomorrow.

Seems like the only folk who have won so far, as a result of this 'panic' is the Govt. Wednesday's panic buying alone netted the Treasury around £32m in fuel duty.

Have a great weekend.

DD1 is coming up from Brighton to a friends wedding in Wales so we are all hoping petrol is available but nonetheless we have not queued or stockpiled and are just hoping people behave sensibly so we can all get some when we really need it.
Love that T shirt..... I can see them really being in demand.
Keeping as calm as poss but sooo excited that the next batch of grandees will visit!!

I'd ask the handyman to do the windows but he's been off this week 'doing the garden' I think the windows as well would be a rung too far!!

I must be living in a cave! What is up with your gas? We are paying close to $4 gal. but no shortages. I hope things ease for you soon.

As you can imagine here in Melbourne the sun shines quite a bit which is wonderful but as you say there's no getting away from it .... I'm slutty too. LOL
Since I discovered blogging and WOYWW there seems too many fun things to do. Spiders webs are artistic aren't they? ;D
Have a fun time this weekend.

wow, love the tee shirt but sounds like some hard times ahead, between cleaning windows and freezers and no petrol, thats not good times at all.

What a fun t-shirt!! Glad you will have some enforced time for crafting... let the idiots queue for petrol if they must!! Stupid gov encouraging and now backing down and asking people not to panic buy.... ummm a little too late??
Here we do windows once a year.. yes, honest, I was shocked as I was used to mine being done monthly at home... but then I found out how much they charge... $130 for window cleaning!! I get it done once a year now too!! LOL The sun was shining the other morning and it was not a pretty sight... showed up all the dust in the house as well...

Great t shirt.
Yep, sluttiness here too....I have voile at the Windows so I don't notice them as much! Though I must admit to defrosting my freezer the other week....strangely satisfying!! As to the petrol, the gov. really messed up, TU's are legally obliged to give 7 days notice of a strike, they haven't even sat down to negotiations let alone announced one! Yep, they deffo gave the wrong message! Anyhow....a weekend of petrol free crafting for me catching up on Tim class....enjoy!

Love the t-shirt. I have the same phrase as my computer icon. As for petrol I HAD to queue yesterday as had dental appointment in a distant town and I only usually fill up when the light comes on and it was close and I didn't want to risk driving on fumes. Did give up on one queue, went round the corner of same petrol station and found much shorter queue - phew! BJ

I love that t shirt. I have tagged you in my last post, if you want to play see my post on 31/3. Please don't feel that you have to play, only if you have the time.

Fantastic t-shirt! So true. Unfortunately I'm someone who relies on her car for independence, I'm unable to walk far so use my car to keep me moving. Nightmare situation - thankfully not everyone here were going mad and was able to get some petrol which I needed without queuing. Had a bad week this week and crafting has kept me sane! Zo xx

Love the T-shirt - hope you'll be wearing it on Saturday? Please may I have a badge - would you bring it with you?

And the big question is, have blogger got their act together and are we now able to leave comments. Yesterday was a comment wash-out!

I love the t-shirt - so fab indeed! Cleaning - what a pain! xx

Stuff the petrol... I'll walk. It's the pasties I'm in uproar about! On the rare occasions I go to London I absolutely MUST buy a Cornwall pasty from the stand on Victoria station. Going to cost me a fortune now it is. Of course NOT buying one isn't an option.

I love that t-shirt :P

When I read your comment this morning about $10.5 Gal fuel prices I almost had a stroke! I mean it. I just can't imagine. My husband has big trucks, dooley trucks and bucket trucks that he uses in his business and now can stop to fuel up and spend over $200 so I can't imagine spending what you have to. We would literally starve to death! I'm wishing the best outcome for this crisis!

Now just wash your mouth out for using that four letter word ....t*** ... cant cope with it...lol and as for X**s ... that keeps creaping into peoples posts ...just too much ...think I'll just pick up the knitting needles and escape to the land of yarn.
LOVE that t-shirt btw. xx

I love that comment and used an American spin on it for some crafting party invitations I made once, here's the link if you want to see them: http://giftsfromdeeyll.blogspot.com/2011/08/crafting-party-and-another-new-leak.html
They were lots of fun to make and I hope your shirt is fun to wear. So sorry to hear about your petro issue over there. I can hardly imagine...I was griping about having to pay $3.83 at the pump the other day! Now I'm feeling really thankful that's all I had to pay! Well, at least if you stay home you save petro money and you get to craft to your hearts content. :)

Oh my Julia...you are ambitious when you are grounded! Gas here is well over $4 a gallon...up 25% in just the last month! I am not sure I can handle a tidy desk this week! LOL Pre-scheduling as I will be gone this week basking in the sun!!!

We understand and sympathize over here in the states as our prices have risen dramatically the last several weeks. I don't drive unless I have to and then I try to make an organized "loop" so that I get as much done in one path. Good luck and waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Ah, the land of loose peas aka 'bottom drawer of freezer' - know it well! And I pull my blinds when the sun shines so I can't see the state of my windows lol :-)

Hope you;re having a fab weekend

Been cleaning here for most of the day too Julia. Its lovely to see the Sunshine, but boy does it show up the dust. I did take a little time out to make a tag for Hel's challenge over at SS. Off to tidy my craft room ready for next weeks fun. Hugs Rita xxx

Great T-shirt - reminds us of where our priorities lie ... and for me that is not cleaning the windows, inside that is, we have a man who cleans the outside so they can be sparkling outside and a disgrace inside due to the habits of a certain little cat ... she's the slutty one in our house :) Now, did the mood last long enough for your desk to be tidied or did it fizzle out, will all be revealed on Wednesday? Keep calm, Elizabeth x

I thought curtains were invented to hide those dirty windows???!! Mine are full of kitty nose prints on the inside and bird hits on the outside. The living room windows--aiy! Floor to cathedral ceiling almost (a couple feet shy of going all the way down). I hope you accomplish something with your desk-tidying mood!
