A traditional summer's day

Here I am, just getting things ready for the school fete, Jan and I are selling our wares again; Jan will also be playing in the brass band because she skilled like that. Jan's husband will be running the book stall (and perfect he is for it too). So there'll be bunting, brass bands, children, cups of tea and sunshine. Quintessentialy English, yah!
These are a couple of the cards I made using that gorgeous Papermania pad that was on my desk on Wednesday - perfect for layering because although none if it's the matches, it's all the same colour group., so it works really well. I expect there's a technical term for it, but of course I don't know what that is. Anyway, I love it and will be using this pad for cards in preference to layouts, definitely.
Meanwhile, I need to look out an old straw hat with faded roses on the brim so that I can get into the fete groove, I'm sure it's de riguer. Have a lovely weekend!

LOVE these cards. They will sell like hotcakes. They are fantastic. Have a super weekend, dear. These cards are awesome. Did I mention how much I like these cards?

The colours are analgous and complimentary which is why they work....or they are just pretty(tech term..fact) and therefore also work lol a technical term for the whole colour scheme would be 'harmonious'

have fun, don't get burned. i shall have an ice cream in honour of your gala.

Beautiful cards ... a different style from normal ...hope things sell well ... and you have a fun time.

Reading about your fete brought back memories of our church fete when we lived in Norwood. It was held in the Vicarage Garden ...which was HUGE ...there were so many stalls of wares and games ...the Jam and Fudge stall was famous for miles around ...and hubby conducted the local Wind Band which played. I remember DD winning a fancy Dress competion at 5 ...there were several Wendy's but I had given her a shadow. Thanks for reminding me of all the fun that was had over the years ...sadly there now stands a retirement home and some flats.

Those cards will be in someone else's house by now I'm sure. They are lovely and summery. And if you're wearing a straw hat with roses don't forget the teapot and tea cosy and the flowered apron will you?!

Good GRIEF. I did my discharge tutorial so Crafty Dawn could do some dyeing, since she says Rit Dye is very expensive in the UK.

After reading your comment, I added this to my post: I went to the internet and saw you can also use table salt as a neutralizer. I found it on a blog, then tried to find other blogs to support it, and, in the process, failed to save the link. But this gal showed using salt and water as a neutralizer. Sorry, I didn't write down the ratio of salt to water, but I thought it was 50/50 salt/water mix, although you might want to start with 1 to 4 to begin and add more salt as needed.

Those cards are positively LUSH and I love the colours. I am also becoming drawn again to the Holtz dies .... but, having been drawn down the slippery slope of Promarkers, I'm trying to be good, I am, honest ......

Have a lovely fete - school fetes, now there's a Blaast from the past - my baby graduates this month!
