I do, but I haven't...

It feels like ages ago, but as June only seemed to last for about 3 days, the beginning of May wasn't so far away for this story to be too shocking. More, proof that if you read here more than once a week, you'll know that my best and most impressive life skill is procrastination. It sure is. It sits comfortably opposite the skill that allows me to rush in and ruin an idea because I'm too impatient to plan properly. I must check with him, but I'm sure this dichotomy of characteristics is one of the things that made me Mr Dunnit's 'one'. *cough*

Now see all these identical little cards? They are obviously little pics of us about to damage a big wedding cake. There are 25 of them. Inside each is a question that Miss Dunnit came up with and our separate answers. We scattered them around the tables at our Silver Wedding Anniversary party. It was fun. For the guests. It caused discussion for the protagonists I can tell you! We weren't supposed to see each other's answers. Here's a couple of examples:
Q: even if it's a cliche - what sums you two up?
HIM: Friends first
ME : We like being together

Q: What's your secret?
HIM: Agree to disagree
ME : Give in. (But I had seen his answer!!)

Q: What are you still looking forward to?
HIM: the next party
ME : the next pay cheque (again because I'd seen his REAL answer about my spending ability!)

Q: ..and would you do it all again?
HIM: of course
ME : only with him

You have to have context for these answers though, and in the same way, I need to develop a context for the cards - what to do? Shall I store them inside the guest book in a nice envelope? Shall I stick them randomly through the guest book (which incidentally, will be produced at every 'special' party between now and my tragic demise --so many pages!). Or shall I come up with a LO for an album? Or shall I continue with the present strategy - move them around the surfaces in this workroom until they drive me mad? I dunno - what would you do?

Waht a nice idea - though I would dread my hubbies answers and it may end in divorce - so will skip that idea for my 25th!

Put them together in a mini book

I don't think I would dare to do that - might not get the answers I expected! Anyway, I would store them in a really nice envelope in the Guest Book - to be rediscovered every now and then ;)

What a fab idea, I would keep them in a fancy envelope type thing with the guest book, would irritate me keep moving them around til I found the perfect place for them, but that is me. 25 years, I still have another 10 to go to reach that milestone, if I don't kill him first LOL. Tracy x

I would do a mini-book of them

I'd keep them inside the guest book.

I'd put them in side the guest book ....maybe in an envelope. I might be tempted to make a LO with the photo and the Q and A's and a now photo from the party, too.

Theya re greta and I think I would include them here and there throughout the album. did you get my email about the Alpha's?

Keep them safe! Ask the same questions in another 10 years. Then compare.

whatever you do - digitise the result and keep it on your website,

for now, my advice would be, put them in a bag in a box in a drawer and temporarily forget about them,

'cos. your best ideas for them will come in the middle of your next bestest biggest importantest project: That (suddenly) gets boring halfway through, and your 25th will (suddenly) be immediately in need of your attention - am I getting close?

Oh and also - whatever you do decide to do - never quite finish it -

My OH (when asked by people who are stunned that anyone can actually LIVE WITH me) , DELIGHTEDLY announces in a longsuffering tone that he is "doing a service to the wider community, keeping the streets slightly safer by keeping me off them"

Yep, I've been wondering where June went as well! These are so lovely, such a nice idea, of course you want to keep them somehow. I favour the envelope in the book option - they sort of belong with the other party stuff don't they?

I'm not sure how thick or large your guest book is, but if you have room, I would keep them with the guest book, then find a nice big box (Mr. D. has fabo woodworking skills and could whip one up, too), preferable wooden, in which to keep everything. Then you will have all the milestones in one spot. Sort of like gall stones, only much better and prettier, I'm sure.

I also like the idea Chrissy had about reusing the same questions in 10 years. My favorite answer was

"HIM: of course
ME : only with him"

More touching than you know.

And before I forget, happy, happy anniversary. I've never done anything for 25 years, except maybe go to school that long (actually longer, come to think of it).

Happy Anniversary.

Keep them with the guest book and I love the idea of Mr D whipping up a wooden box to keep all the mementos in. Just think of the fun you can have decorating it.

I'd make up a mini book similar to the guest book. Each page could have a pocket that you slipped each card into. Or you could just keep moving them around, which is probably what I'd have done xxx

What a fab idea that was and they look wonderful (congratulations btw)
How about making them into their very own little mini book? I think they look a bit like the concertina album I made a few weeks ago and I'm wondering if they could be made into something along those lines.

love it Julia, but what to do with them, I often keep something moving it around as it annoys me, have now got an accordian file to put these things in for when i get around to doing something more with them (which is generally never), great idea BTW and Happy anniversary

What a cool thing to do, except that I would be hesitant to hear my husband's answers to any of those questions. It's beyond me what to do with them, other than move them off your desk on Wednesday (that's what I keep doing with the fish painting)...

25 cards, 25 years - one for each year of scrapbooked memories? the 26th page could be all the questions and answers typed out, beautifully, of course!

Congratulations on your Silver Wedding Anniversary. Precious words amongst them that deserve their own mini book, pocket style with the, oft suggested, Q & A s typed out.

Hi Julia

I would keep one in the guest book, put one in the album you do about the party and recyle the rest after all so you need all 25? I have to be ruthless like this otherwise I would keep everything. I think I will pinch this idea for my Mum and Dad's 40th anniversary in a few years. Thanks for sharing and congrtulations.

I would bind them into a mini book and make a box for the book and add some photos of the dinner and other momentos. I think Mz Dunnit is a star to come up with the idea, its fab!! Love the idea of the questions and answers.

Oh how gorgeous and what a brilliant idea. I like the idea of an envelope in the book but also creating a LO with all the Q&A's on there :)

Hello btw, I feel like I have been AWOL for ages but has only been a week or so or maybe less... Feels like forever, like I've lost a chunk of time somewhere... was that June? Blimey.

I enjoyed reading your quiz questions. But what I really enjoyed was your comment about procrastination as a skill. Ah, at last! Found out what my top ambition in life should be, and realized that I have reached it! What a great way to start the week. Now, instead of feeling guilty about not doing something I should be, I will remind myself I'm practicing my skills to keep sharp. LOL. Lovely post, enjoyed the picture, and started my week with a smile. Hugs
