IIWA? What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Good grief, half terms seems to have accelerated the week. I'm delighted to offer you a double whammy this week! Actually it comes in the form of making up for genuinely bad photos of my work space today. When I switched my camera on this morning, it told me that the memory card is locked. Well I didn't lock it - well, I didn't deliberately lock it.......And as it was empty bar a couple of photos of cards for goodness sake, why would I lock up 4 gigs of memory. Man, I'm a bit cross about that. Anyhoo, Miss Dunnit is up and around already and lent me her camera...but I am unable to refine the settings in the time I have before real life takes over this morning!
Remember on Monday I went to see The Colonial? Here's her desk. Fair to say that she works in the 'push back' style so that she has a square inch of space on her cutting mat. Works for so many. But it's a great desk..full of stuff you want to look at, I can assure you. I did not ask permission to swing, she seemed nervous at my photographing this! But of course, eventually she'll let me. Start slow and sweet....!

And mine is here..over exposed and not very exciting! The magazine has been pushed back to let me work on the glass mat - I must have been cutting with a scalpel..I use the magazine when I'm inking papers etc..saves me having to clean the mat. The faithful bottle of Primas is still there, just behind the buttons; neither have been used this week at all, but if they're in my line of vision, you never know! I've been adding some more stuff to the the 12 of 16 album; I actually cut into the A3 polka dot acrylic sheet I bought from Paperchase to make a page. I've had it 3 months, and it's getting in the way now! No doubt you'll see the pages when done - I do hate a blog post without a picture!
And here's the left hand swing again...a bit further left this time, you can still see the ribbon jar which was the edge of last week's 'swing', and I've opened the other two cupboards so you can see my papers and, on the bottom right shelf, terrible punch storage! So now you can also see where I'm sitting as I type this rubbish. It's a terrible photo, but, I guess as its not exactly the most interesting of subjects, it won't matter too much!

So, come on then - show us your workdesk/lap tray/sofa/floor - whatever surface you work on; we want to see what you've got , what you're doing and to a certain extent, where you store it all! Put a photo on your blog and then leave a comment here to tell us where to find you. Be warned, we'll come and look! There's a badge on the top left of this blog if you want to erm, go public as a WOYWWer.

Hi Julia, push back style!!! I know what that is - done it myself because in the midst of a project nothing else would work unless you had a massive work desk. Love your idea of the mag for stamping - I struggle to keep cards clean and myself for that matter. By the way - would love to get into your ribbon jar!!! ikki

I think I would get on with your friend - I too am a big fan of the "push back" method of crafting (love that phrase!).

I think I might love that red polka dot acrylic. Seriously fabulous.

Tell us about the picture on your wall. Gosh, i'm so nosey!

Happy Wednesday!

If you check out my blog I can'd get away with the 'push back' method but if given the choice.... :-)

Ah most of us work in the 'push-back' manner at times hehe. I've seen people using glass cutting mats, but I'd have thought they'd blunt craft knives/scalpels more quickly? ah exciting that phot may not be but where would we be without our papers ;) My 'desk' is the 2nd post down on my blog as I've put the photo guessing game back at the top for those who would like to satisfy their curiosity and find out just which one was me ;)

I have a degree in 'push back' In fact I think I was the inventor!
Now and again, all of the accumulated pushed back stuff gets binned, but for the most part it just sits there!
I'm still v. envious of that storage!
Take a look my desk is here

Oh poo, I tried to post a proper link and blogger promptly ate it! Loving the "push back" concept even if it does send shivers of horror down my spine ...

Yes that punch storage is a disgrace! My advice is get em out and hang them on the wall where you can see wot you got!

My desk is at http://atcexchange.blogspot.com

Hi, all.

I am in a bit of a rush today (doing this from the office at lunchtime) so I can't leave individual comments, but everyone looks very neat so far. As I explained last week I don't have a digital camera and have to rely on "print" when I am going out and about with my film camera, so thare are no further instalments of my drawers - I had SO many lovely comments last week - thank you all - and would dearly love to be able to let you all in for a rummage - but as you probably guessed, there ain't much room!!!! So I am sorry, but no inside peaks of anything this week. What is on my workspace-on-the-floor, though,is the dragonfly tag from the post before last (that's just to make you look at the whole blog, lol!!) which I haven't finished yet. I will try and get round the rest of you later.

Not much on my desk except for the gorgeous little cardy I am knitting. I have swung round to reveal a shelf or two but don't get excited - I am not as well endowed as Wipso - er I mean that in the storage capacity - tho thinking about it .....

And what is wrong with the push back method, I live by that rule!

Now on to your fab desk, coffee, best jar in town! Love that little shoe with the pins in .. how sweet!

I tend to work in little spaces too. For some reason I seem to have a block when my desk is clean lol

For some reason I hadn't realised the scale of that ribbon jar last week! It's "awesome" as Americans are wont to say. I too am curious about the picture hanging on the wall, your family? Your desk looks very industrious today, I have no comment to make about your friends though!!

Here's my desk and another swing.

Morning stranger….did you miss me?
Thought I’d better show my face today seeing as I’ve missed the last three weeks (hangs her head in shame)

Oh, that first shot so reminds me how my desk looks most of the time…..but not today I’m pleased to say!
You can see it Here

I’m thinking that I may need to invest on one of those glass mats; especially my one is all buckles where I left it leaning up against the radiator last night when I shifted off the table for something and forgot all about it. I can’t get to go back flat again now.

I'm still keeping up and loving the fact that it allows me to be nosey and get a look at other people's spaces as they really use them rather than the neat image we'd like to give people. My desk can be found at http://craftamongthelandrovers.blogspot.com/2010/02/special-day.html

Yooo hooooo.... I'm here - a bit later than usual but my sister has been and I had to give her a personal one to one tutorial on the handmade flowers. Anyhoo - i've blogged my workspace and it over in the playground ready to view.

Julia - you seriously need to get another jar for your ribbons - what if you need the ribbon right at the bottom... I've used the push back method this morning... Internet was down for most of day yesterday so made more roses, when I was back on line I couldn't be bothered to tidy up first - so I lika your push back method!!!

Righto - off to grab a coffe then start from the top of your comments and visit each in WOYWWer in turn...

Hi, I come over from Diane.W’s blog. Enjoyed this post and other WOYWW. Your comment about the “push back” work desk style was very funny. Just did my first WOYWW.(http://joyknitcrochet.blogspot.com/2010/03/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday.html) I am more textile craft; paper craft in small doses.
